So in my Contemporary Mathematics class, we have one big final project instead of an exam. Our project could be anything we wanted, as long as it involved some sort of number sequence. I chose to take an assortment of 15 NHL players, and make a drawing-collage of them so that their jersey numbers spell out the first 20-ish digits of Pi.
Row 1: Jack Johnson, LA Kings; Steve Mason, Columbus Blue Jackets; Jaroslav Halak, St. Lous Blues; Chad LaRose, Carolina Hurricanes; Thomas Vanek, Buffalo Sabres
Row 2: Derek Morris, Phoenix Coyotes; Greg Zanon, Minnesota Wild; Alexander Ovechkin, Washington Captials; Matt Gilroy, NY Rangers; Bobby Ryan, Anaheim Ducks
Row 3: Kari Lehtonen, Dallas Stars; Jason Jaffray, Calgary Flames; Andrei Kostitsyn, Montreal Canadiens; Luke Schenn, Toronto Maple Leafs; Jamie McGinn, San Jose Sharks
I am ridiculously happy with this piece. I just love everything about it. It was a ton of work to do in just a few days, but the final outcome was totally worth it. C:
